I bought an OTT MXQ Pro on amazon and received them with outdated firmware. Play store wouldn’t work and kodi was an old version. Kodi was also full of bloatware.

After trying a few firmware updates that ranged from bad to worse, I was able to use the one listed on this page successfully. Play store works fine now and Kodi is updated to latest version so I was able to install Exodus. Kodi is also a slimmed down install which makes it run faster.

Overall, I am very impressed with this firmware. The remote and wifi work fine on it. I would highly recommend giving it a try.

I used the USB Burning Tool to flash the boxes.

It loaded to 94% then got temp out of range. Adjusted the temp range setting, now it keeps having romcode/initialize ddr/read initialize status/usb control setup error and the blue light does not come on any more. Any suggestions?

Thanks but could not get it to past 2% after that. Even leaving it for a while.
